Welcome back Griffin staff!

Last week our Superintendent and School Board had a District Workshop with WSSDA (WA State School Directors' Association), gaining some great tools in how to best serve our District!

Thank you to the Little Red Schoolhouse Project, for donating so many supplies to our district! We are so grateful knowing all of our students are prepared for the school year ahead!

Griffin's Child Nutrition Program at work .

Our picnic shed is getting a facelift! This will be a great area for outdoor classes and lunchtime. Thank you to our awesome summer crew and all their hard work!

Have you started Back to School shopping? Here are the supply lists for the upcoming school year: Griffin School Supplies 2025-2026

Check out these floors! Our Facilities Crew has been hard at work this summer!

What a dedicated group of staff we have! About 10 staff members recently attended a training for Restorative Practices. They are gearing up for the 2025-2026 school year and ready to train staff at our upcoming Professional Development days in August.

Congrats Griffin Graduates - Class of 2025!

Griffin students are buzzing with excitement during Career Day today, diving into hands-on experiences and learning directly from professionals who brought their careers to life on campus. Students in grades K–8 explored a wide variety of career paths, including firefighting, engineering, the military, salmon recovery, biology, electrical, construction, financial planning, dentistry, state patrol, physical therapy, hairstyling, public health, veterinary science, and so much more!
Thank you to all of the community members who participated in today's Career Day Event at Griffin!

Living History Day:
Griffin students took a thrilling step back in time during today’s Living History Day, immersing themselves in the sights, sounds, and stories of the 1800s.

Thursday is our School BBQ. Hope you are able to join us!

National Junior Honor Society - Visits the Food Bank
On Thursday, May 29, 2025, Twenty-one NJHS members, three volunteers and Mrs. Stottlemyre went to the Capital Campus Thurston County Food Bank Farm to help with whatever was needed. Students were greeted by the Kiwanis Club volunteers and Jessica Colson of the Thurston County Food Bank and were given a demonstration on how to harvest and process onions. The NJHS harvested and processed onions, and weeded, and planted squash. Students worked for a little over two hours. With 25 helpers working for 2 hours, helpers were able to give the Thurston County Food Bank Farm 50 hours of work in one morning! Students had a great time and helped get lots done! That is what the National Junior Honor Society is all about; helping our community.

Senior Luncheon 2025!

Thank you to the amazing staff in The Grizzly Grill on School Lunch Hero Day. It is such a great feeling to work with two amazing women who share the same passion for feeding our students great nutritious meals. Thank you Li & Aubreanna for your dedication & hard work to the Griffin students.

Rue's Wrap: Between an amazing 3rd Grade concert performance on Tuesday night that highlighted the most amazing unicorn hat that I've ever seen and a very well attended Community Cafe event on Thursday evening, where so many community members came together to share a meal and provide their feedback on the future of Griffin, I couldn't ask for a better week as Griffin's superintendent . This district is truly a special place!
