This past Wednesday, our School Board recognized the efforts of several students and staff members.
A big shout out to Landon Hufana and Tucker DeLong for their work as Recess Mentors. Daily, they spend part of their day out on the playground helping engage our elementary students in healthy play. They serve as amazing role models!
A huge congratulations to Dr. Ashley McCabe-Herron, teacher of 7th and 8th grade English at Griffin, who recently earned her doctorate degree. What an accomplishment!
The Board also recognized Fiscal Director Kim Ferra for her hard work and commitment over the years in managing Griffin's finances. School finance is complex and the Board is grateful for her service to our community.

RUE'S WRAP: Did you know? Griffin has expanded access to ASB Leadership this year! Our ASB is now a club open to all interested middle school students. From this larger group, officers will be elected by their club peers--meaning more students than ever get to step into leadership and be a part of the ASB action.
Through ASB, student gain real-world skills in leadership, organization, and collaboration. They plan school events, make decisions about how to use ASB resources, and learn to listen to and advocate for diverse student voices.
A big thank you to Mrs. Anneka Brown, our librarian and ASB advisor, for guiding this work. I had the chance to stop by their meeting today as they prepped for elections next week--and even convinced them to pause for a quick photo.
I can't wait to see what our ASB leaders dream up for Griffin this year. Go Grizzlies!!!

What a fantastic first week at Griffin!
On Tuesday night, middle school families joined us for Open House, where parents followed their student's schedule and got a preview of the elearning ahead this semester. On Wednesday, we welcomed our middle schoolers back to campus, while our elementary families spent two days in 1:1 family meetings with teachers.
Teachers shared that these family meetings eased first-day jitters and set a positive tone for the year.
Thank you to all parents and guardians who made time to attend--your partnership is key to helping our students learn and thrive!
