Griffin School District is transitioning to ParentSquare, a centralized platform designed to simplify district, school, and classroom communications for families. Since the neighboring Olympia School District also uses ParentSquare, this adoption creates a seamless experience for local families.
What is ParentSquare?
ParentSquare consolidates all district news, updates, and classroom communications into one user-friendly space. Messages can be delivered via email, text, mobile app, or web browser, with automatic translation available in preferred languages.
Key features include:
Real-Time News: Receive instant district and school announcements.
Direct Messaging: Communicate directly with teachers and school staff.
Online Forms & Sign-Ups: Complete permission slips, schedule parent-teacher conferences, and view volunteer opportunities.
Central Hub: Access school calendars, schedules, and photos.
Transition Timeline
October – December 2026: District and school communications will be sent through both Skyward/Q and ParentSquare during the rollout phase.
January 2027: All district and school-wide communications will move exclusively to ParentSquare.
2026–2027 School Year: Classroom-level platforms remain at individual teacher discretion for the rest of the year, with full district-wide classroom adoption taking effect in the 2027–2028 school year.
How to Get Started
Families can begin using the platform by downloading the free ParentSquare app (iOS/Android) or visiting www.parentsquare.com.
